Oil Paintings
Liang paints in a photo-realistic style, and accuracy is her strength: the aim is a portrait that looks like the person or pet you know. Oil is the richest of her three mediums, with deep, true-to-life colour in skin tones, fabrics and fur.
If your photo is vibrant and colourful, such as a wedding photo, a bright family snapshot or a pet with a light or white coat, Liang often recommends an oil painting when the budget allows. For an old, small or black-and-white photo, a charcoal sketch is usually the better fit.
Oil paintings take longer than drawings: usually 2 to 4 weeks from your deposit, compared with about 7 days for charcoal or pastel. If you need the portrait by a certain date, mention it when you ask for a quote. Because the painting can only be as accurate as the photo behind it, a clear, well-lit photo makes the biggest difference; see the photo guidelines.
Oil Painting Rates
All paintings are done on stretched canvas board. They are ready to hang up on the wall without framing.
